Math Champ

Looking for a way to help students enjoy maths and improve their results?
Math Champ is a challenging and innovative quiz game designed for grades 4 to 7 that your students will go nuts over – any student with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can compete head to head – at the same time – to become to the class Math Champ. Check out the video tour below to see how it works;

To play Math Champ you need the SERVER (or HOST) and 1 or more students who have the Math Champ Client installed on their iPad or iPhone. The client application works as real time student response system during games, while the host is designed to deliver questions and encourage social play.

Gameplay

Each question has a set amount of time to be answered, and each correct answer also earns points for each player. There are bonus points for the fastest answer, and/or the first person to answer 5 questions in a row. The use of game rewards, along with in-game notifications and colorful characters means that even your least interested math students will get a kick out of competing in Math Champ.

When your class is ready to roll, tap on “Start Quiz” – TIP: If you have a HDMI cable or Apple TV, you can also enhance play by using an external display to show the Math Champ leaderboard during play.

Class list management

When you first load Math Champ Host – you’ll need to create a class and add your class list to it. This can be done in the settings area and takes just a few minutes. When play begins, students can connect to your class and choose their own own avatar to be used in play.

Hundreds of quiz questions

The only other thing you need to do before play kicks off is to select some game content – select the grade and the difficulty level and Math Champ will do the rest of the work. When each quiz starts the HOST will automatically generate a quiz set randomly from thousands of available questions (all based on common curricular standards). Math Questions are sent to each client device in real time as play unfolds… Creating a weekly class math quiz has never been easier!

When the quiz is complete, the leading scorer is declared as the Math Champ.. that is until someone else can unseat them!

Valuable metrics

While Math Champ is loads of fun for kids of all ages, teachers can also access valuable student metrics in the class list area, and the host will keep a record of results for all players for every quiz they complete. This data can be easily emailed and exported to a CSV file.
